Should I edit theme.liquid directly, or build a custom section?

For one-off placements (homepage, about page), edit the template file directly. For reusable embeds across product or collection pages, build a custom section — easier to manage and remove later.
Does this work on Shopify 2.0 themes?

Yes. With Online Store 2.0 themes you can also build an App Block from the theme customizer for drag-and-drop placement, no code editing required.
Will the widget hurt my store’s page speed score?

The iframe loads asynchronously and does not block first paint. The SDK script is small (under 20 KB) and cached aggressively. Your Shopify PageSpeed should not regress.
Does this work on draft themes before I publish?

Yes. Edit the draft theme code, save, then use Shopify’s preview link (Online Store → Themes → Preview) to see the widget before publishing. Once you publish the theme, the widget goes live for shoppers.
Will it conflict with my GDPR cookie consent banner?

The widget does not set tracking cookies on your customers’ domain — only analytics cookies on the squeezereviews.com iframe domain. If your consent banner blocks third-party iframes globally before consent, the widget may not render until consent is granted. Whitelist squeezereviews.com if needed.
